The Park and Land Unit

The Park and Land Unit belongs to the Operations and Maintenance Department. The unit consists of over 20 people working with the management and maintenance of green spaces and the management of the municipality's land reserve. We work to maintain biodiversity, climate adaptation, and sustainability.

Our team consists of landscape engineers, outdoor coordinators, ecologists, limnologists, land managers, safety strategists, and two team leaders.

We are now looking for

Two solution-focused landscape engineers who are motivated to make a difference for those living, visiting, and working in Norrköping!

Your Responsibilities

As a landscape engineer with us, you will work with the management and maintenance of our green spaces. You are part of a competent and dedicated team that shares your passion for sustainable and purposeful care.

You will work with your colleagues to ensure that parks, squares, green areas, and play environments are managed, maintained, and reinvested.

You will be responsible for a geographical area where you will work closely with other subject areas within operations and maintenance as well as with the office's planning functions in both the short and long term. You will be responsible for procurement and orders of contractors, setting requirements, and following up on compliance with agreements. You will also be responsible for budgeting and reporting for your area to the team leader.

You will have many contacts both internally and externally with both businesses and municipal citizens. You will respond to comments and inquiries in a customer-oriented manner with a good attitude, balancing a high level of service with legal security. You will create and maintain professional relationships.

One of the landscape engineers we are looking for will have a particular focus on preparing cases for the board. You will work with quality development and follow-up as well as the development of the organization's routines and working methods.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a university degree in landscape engineering, landscape architecture, relevant engineering discipline, or another university education that the employer deems equivalent.

You have knowledge of the management, maintenance, and administration of public green spaces. It is advantageous if you have several years of relevant and qualified work experience in the field.

We consider it advantageous if you have knowledge of requirements specification and ordering according to contracted projects (either as a client or a contractor). We also see it as advantageous if you have strategic knowledge and experience, for example regarding investigations, preparing decision support, and evaluating working methods, routines, and collaboration.

Furthermore, we would like you to have experience as a client and knowledge of LOU.

To succeed in the role of landscape engineer, we see that you are a communicative, unpretentious, and collaborative person who enjoys working in a team where you build good relationships, both internally and externally. You see the benefits of creating networks, both within and outside the organization, and use this to your own and the organization's advantage.

You are skilled at communicating verbally, which is central to building trust and collaborating successfully in your work. You have a good understanding of the organization and always work based on what is best for the organization.

You are flexible and can easily adapt to changing conditions and priorities. Furthermore, you work with a customer focus and meet needs to create long-term relationships.

You have the ability to organize and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance and develop strategies and methods to meet the organization's vision and goals.

You have a B driver's license for manual transmission and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
